Final Project !
Hi there ! sorry for not uploading my post, but I have been doing a lot of things and also flying for vacations to my country. Here is the cover of my little book about Chile. The idea came when i was doing a research about information of chile, I was looking for pamphlets with photos from Chile but I didn’t find any of them, there where just the ones that had info, so I created a little book to show the beautiful places of chile.
Some inspiration for next project !
I never though i could have some much homeworks for this last weeks of the semester, I feeel like doing the homework that i didnt do in a year, u finish one and you have 10 more to go hehehe !! isn’t true? yeah sure ! Therefore this project is giving me a good time while i am doing it ! is complicated to thing about layouts and position of things but at the same time gives you a wide panel of things that you can try to put in a book !
While i was doing some research and looking for some inspiration I founf a web page really interesting of any kind of magazines, books and booklets, you should check out this one, called Issuu !

Poster Project

Thinking about a really big issue here in Vancouver and specially here at Emily Carr of Student Housing I start doing research and realizing that just UBC and SFU have on campus housing. But, happens if you are a student from another University? Mmmmm… there is just one answer, start working part time and study full time to get your rent or even to buy materials IF is possible. I think that, if Emily Carr starts saving one dollar or a little more for any student that register to the University, probably every student would do the same and start a big funding to get houses. But is a dream the same as the Upass, lets hope hope that I will get at least one of those before i graduate.
First Poster was this one

this is the second and improved one !

Here I placed it at the skytrain ! Sorry I missed to put it in the post !

Next Assignment …
Hey guys ! I was doing some research for next project and I found some pretty interesting posters.

I have to admit that the message is really strong and the color they use make it to pop up, which as our teacher is something that is very important for making a poster. If you want to see the other ones form the same group, called, War Child.
Look what I just found !

I was looking for some examples of photoshop use. And I found some awesome use of photoshop. Press this link if you want to see some other work.
The more I use photoshop the more I learn but no one told me, it was so hard to convey the idea that you want in your image or also to use every tool. But finally I could do my project after many times of re-doing it. But anyways, I have to try to learn more, lets see if youtube gives me more info.
Dangerous Countries
So Guys ! I have to tell you that I have been doing some researches and I have to tell you that is it very difficult to find current researches or even a rate saying which is the actual most dangerous country around the world. There are many blogs that talked about this, bu who knows who tells the truth. Last I had to go to fix my rubber boots for rain and while I was waiting for them I went to the next store where I found a special edition of National Geographic that has actual numbers and statistics of the countries around the world, but I made the worst mistake, I didn’t buy it ! so If anyone sees the special edition let me know. I made a brief look of the themes and they were very interesting. One was about how poverty affects countries resulting in dangerous ones.
One example is Colombia, where there is a greater risk of being kidnapped there than in any other country in the world. In 2002, more than 3,000 people were reported kidnapped throughout Colombia.
I also found a very good web page that tell a very small description of the dangerous countries in the world. If you have time take a look on it, and tell me what you think.

Security in your life !
Do you know that in others countries houses are always surrounded by high fences, cement walls or alarms ? Compare with Canada, where people is used to leave their things outside the house, like games, shoes or even keys. Countries like, Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil and Others the situation is completely different. As the time goes by, the problem of insecurity in the American Continent rises up, letting us know the social degradation that these countries are having. For example, I am from Chile, which I know it hasn’t been named as a very dangerous country, but since I moved to Canada friends and family have tell me that going outside or even staying in your house is getting very dangerous. And I actually proved it. Last December I went back to Chile for just three weeks. The second week i was there I was walking with my mom jut to the grocery store at noon and a random guy came from nowhere and to my mom’s gold necklace. A couple of year ago this wouldn’t have happened. Why is this happening? One of the important reasons is the economic recession, people is more desperate to get something to eat or money to survived.
This problem is not just only in South or Central America, this is happening all around the world, Canada, United States, Germany and others. So please keep yourself aware of what is going around you. Sometimes we take for granted that the place where we are walking is secure, but is not always like we think.
